Thelma Lenore “TK” Komo Sammuli
Born Thelma Leonor Cubillo to August and Zoila Cubillo in Managua, Nicaragua on April 3, 1942. Thelma, her sister and mother emigrated to the San Francisco area in 1944, following her father who emigrated to join the US Army right after Pearl Harbor, serving with the Corps of Engineers in Okinawa.
She was married to Steven Komo from 1961 to 1982. She had two daughters, Debra and Diana.
She received her BSME from the University of California, Berkeley.
In 1977, began working in the data center design and construction support field with Control Data and later with R L Daniell Associates.
Founded Komo Associates Inc. in 1986, providing consulting and support services for the data center design and construction field. Added construction specification writing, commissioning services, and LEED Professional services.
TK married Lynn Sammuli (Sam) in 1991.
She died October 22, 2014, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, a stepdaughter, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, and a brother.
She always felt it was an engineer’s duty to pass on knowledge gained to others.
