Roger John Bernot, 78, of Stuart, Florida passed away on July 15th, 2024 after a 6-month battle defying the odds of Stage-4 pancreatic cancer.
Roger was born on September 15th, 1945 to parents Joseph Bernot and Barbara Bernot. In his early years Roger marched to the beat of a different drum, polishing shoes on the streets of south Chicago at eight years old. With youthful business ventures behind him, an adult Roger began a fruitful career in real estate and inspired his family with an everlasting entrepreneurial spirit.
In 1969, Roger met Maggie Carreiro in Los Angeles, California. Roger and Maggie went on to have two sons together, Rodney Shawn Bernot and Roland Jon Bernot. In their later years, Roger and Maggie enjoyed traveling the world together and celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Roger captained his family and never missed a teachable moment. As more grandchildren and great-grandchildren joined his family his love grew to meet them and expressed itself through boating-lessons and voyages, golf cart driving-practice, and quality time with his family: the most-cherished of his many gifts.
Roger was predeceased by his beloved sons Rodney and Roland and his family finds comfort in their reunion. Roger is survived by his daughters Tammy (John) and Veronica, son Earl (Ivone), and his grandchildren Alexandra (Joseph), Bridget, Matthew, Reegan, Ramona, and Marcelo. Roger and Maggie were also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Graham and Rosie.
Services will be held at a location and date still to-be-determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
