Robert Dale Hutchison, a proud Marine, dedicated husband, and devoted father, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Peggy Ann, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and adventures. Robert lived a life marked by honor, love, and unwavering loyalty.

Born on November 3, 1933, in Goshen, Indiana to Paul and Martha Hutchison, Robert was the fifth of nine children. He grew up in the Goshen area and this is where he met Peggy Ann Vantine whom he went on to marry on December 20, 1952. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect. 

Robert served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1960, including distinguished service during the Korean War. His time in the Marines instilled in him the values of discipline, courage, and service, which he carried with him throughout his life.

After his time with the Marines Robert and his family relocated to Florida in 1966 for his job.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Robert was passionate about Notre Dame football and all professional Chicago sports teams, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Robert enjoyed traveling all over the United States. Family was very important to him and he cherished family vacations, holiday get-togethers, and just hanging out at the house with family around. 

Robert will be laid to rest with military honors on December 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL, joining his fellow servicemen and women in eternal peace.

Robert is survived by his children: Robert Hutchison, Jr., Belinda Gluckler, Gary Hutchison, Jeff Hutchison, and Deana Miller, as well as 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, a cause close to Robert’s heart demonstrated through his love of dogs. His legacy of love, service, and devotion will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
