Richard Victor Francis

 Richard (Dick) Francis, age 85 passed away on December 25, 2023.  He was born on November 15, 1938 in Wood-Ridge, NJ where he grew up.  He was the son of Victor and Florence Francis.  He graduated from Wood-Ridge High School in 1956 where he lettered in football and track.  He attended Rutgers University and served in the US Coast Guard.  He married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Begg on June 6, 1959.  He and Lorraine raised their 5 children in Whitehouse, NJ before moving to Florida in 1991. He was the devoted husband of Lorraine Francis celebrating 64 years of marriage and he was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Richard was the president of the family sporting goods business in NJ before moving to Florida.  He was an instrument rated private pilot and he was an avid sportsman.  He enjoyed skeet shooting, hunting and fishing.  He had a passion for fishing which he shared with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine, their children: Kurt, Bobby, Richie (Susan), Karen (John), and Kevin, their grandchildren: Kyle (Ally), Kelly (Tyler), Sara (David), Drew, Michael, Katelyn, Richard, Jessica, John and Stephen, and their great grandchildren: Lyris, Renny, Bayliss, Lilly, and Kevin and his sister Judith Francis Skene.

There will be a funeral mass Saturday February 3rd at 12 pm at St. Martin de Porres in Jensen Beach, FL.
