Norman David Swigler, aged 100, passed away on October 14, 2024, in Stuart, FL. Born on February 2, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, Norman dedicated much of his life to education and service, profoundly impacting those around him. Norman proudly served in the Navy, where he upheld the values of dedication and honor throughout his tenure. He was an accomplished baseball player with a promising career when he decided to serve his country and join the Navy. He was a WW II veteran who served in the South Pacific. His tour took him to Eniwetak Island of the Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. He served at Wake Island, Ponape, and Iwo Jima. After the war he attended West Chester College where he met and then married his wife, Marguerite, and moved to Ft Lauderdale, FL to begin their family and career. In 1985 they moved to Stuart, FL. After his military service, he transitioned to a career in education, where he shaped young minds as a math teacher before ascending to roles as a junior high school principal, high school principal, and eventually the North Area Superintendent in Broward County School District. His leadership and commitment to education left a lasting legacy in his community. Norman was also an avid enthusiast of tennis, fishing, and traveling, pursuits that brought him great joy and relaxation. Through these hobbies, he formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. Norman is survived by a loving family, including his daughter Charlotte Swigler; son Bill Swigler and his wife Debbie; daughter Susie Gore and her husband Bill; two grandchildren Ryan (and wife Jackie), David (and wife Kelly); and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite.
