Lynn Allan “Sam” Sammuli was born May 18, 1936, in Fredrick, South Dakota. He was the youngest of 12 children and the second to be born in the US after the family had emigrated from Finland in the early 1930’s.
He joined the US Navy in 1955 at the age of 19 and served for four years, earning two Good Conduct Medals while providing electrical engineering support in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean naval locations.
Sam received his BSEE from the South Dakota School of Mines, Rapid City.
He was married to Wanda Morse in the early 1970s. He had one stepdaughter, Jan.
After completing his degree in the early 1960s, Sam began working in the data center design and construction support field with Control Data and later with Komo Associate Inc. beginning in 1986 until his retirement in 2016.
He married Thelma Komo (TK) in 1991. He had two stepdaughters, Debra and Diana.
Sam passed in his sleep on November 22, 2024, at home in Port St. Lucie, FL at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, nine sisters, and his wife. He is survived by three stepdaughters, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
