Linda G. George

Linda G. George, 85, of Stuart, FL passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter “Wes” George of Stuart, FL, their son Steven Weston George of Ventura, CA, and daughter Kelly Rachel Nelson and husband Brian of Jupiter, FL and her four grandchildren Brian Franklin, James Franklin, Georgia James, and Camryn Nelson. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia Andrews, Pauline Sudduth, Henry Painter and Bill Painter.

Linda was born Linda Gayle Painter on December 20, 1938 in Odessa Texas, the Daughter of James and Lola Painter. She married Wes George, a native of Iowa in 1958. In 1960, the young couple moved to Orange County CA where their children were born and raised and where they founded and operated a successful manufacturing business. After retiring in 1982, the couple moved to Friday Harbor WA. They began wintering in Florida in 2005 and moved full time to Martin County in 2015.

Linda was a humble servant of Jesus and not one to take pride in her accomplishments. She was commended by many for her love of family, her hospitality, her agreeable nature, and her ability to multi-task. Linda was fortunate to have the time and resources to travel extensively with Wes and to help many loved ones and also many organizations that were dear to them.
