Josephine C. Agrillo (Jo) passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2024, at the young age of 83 years.
Josephine, Jo or Mama known us, was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 2, 1941, where she met her husband, Joseph Agrillo Sr. They married in 1960 and started a life in Massapequa, NY. 43 years ago, they decided to move to Stuart, FL with their 3 children Anthony, Teresa and Joseph.
Jo had a very interesting life! Marrying her childhood sweetheart, raising 3 children all while operating a family-owned business on Long Island called Pasta Joe’s. This store was the heartbeat of their whole family before moving to Florida. Once in Florida, Jo worked for several places where we know she touched the heart of many. First the Stuart Fire Department, then she became the head Teller of Harbor Federal Bank. Then once again, because cooking was in their blood, the family opened another restaurant called Trimmins. A short time after that the family grew and the children started their own career path, they opened an Independent Insurance agency. This is where Jo became Agent and work with Anthony and Teresa for over 39 years.
Jo (Mama) was the matriarch of her family. She was the glue that kept everyone together. No matter what was needed, Mama was always there to lend an ear, some wisdom, and always had love to give. Jo’s main thing was FAMILY and STAYING CLOSE KNIT, having Sunday dinners, holidays, and phone calls every night. Even though we worked together that day! Family is what gave her the most joy in life and truly what she lived for!
She was an avid member of Saint Andrews Catholic church where she found solitude in her Sunday masses with Father Jack. These Sunday sermons would help guide her throughout her week giving her comfort and grace, which she spread to everyone she met.
She is survived by her three children, Anthony, Teresa, and Joseph. Two daughters-in-law, Jenny and Claire along with her four grandchildren, Stephanie, Joshua, Angelina, Ashley, and two great-grandchildren Channing and Owen.
