John Neal Dell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 78. John went home to be home with his Lord in the early hours of February 7th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Born and raised on a farm in Belle Glade, son of Yuthe and Tera Dell, John developed a love for the outdoors from an early age. Many joyful hours were spent skiing and fishing on Lake Okeechobee, camping, hunting, and exploring in his Jeep.
In 1974, John committed his heart to Linda, his devoted wife of 50 years. Their enduring love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them. In 1977, they welcomed the light of their life, Rebecca, into their family. John was a wonderful father. He was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement to Rebecca throughout her childhood and offered invaluable guidance and wisdom to her as an adult. John's love extended beyond his human connections, as he had a deep affection for animals. He had many pets over the years and loved them all.
Throughout his life, John exemplified qualities of trustworthiness and honesty, earning him great respect in his professional endeavors. A man of his word, John's integrity left a lasting impact on those around him. He served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his church, Christ Fellowship at the Stuart Campus, where he and Linda actively participated in various ministries.
One of John's greatest joys was visiting people in the hospital, offering prayers and encouragement during challenging times. His knowledge of the Word of God was a source of strength, and he generously shared it with others. John served on the church's prayer team and, alongside Linda, led a Bible study for seniors. Together, they devoted seven years to the homeless ministry, feeding and ministering to those in need.
A disabled veteran, John proudly served his country for eight years in the Air Force. His charismatic personality and sense of humor drew people toward him, making him a mentor to many who crossed his path. Kind and generous, John's impact on the lives of others was immeasurable.
John is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his daughter Rebecca, son-in-law Robert, granddaughter and grandson Mia and Gabriel, sisters Glenda Currey and Gail Brown, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Christ Fellowship, 10205 Pratt Whitney Rd, Stuart, FL 34997, at 11:00am, where friends and family will come together to remember the remarkable man who touched so many hearts. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Flowers and memorial contributions to Christ Fellowship, Stuart Campus are equally welcome.
