Edward Bailey passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, July 29th, 2024 after a long illness.  He was under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice. Edward was born on September 22, 1937, in Niagara Falls, New York to Alexander & Sophie (nee Laskowski) Bialobrzewski. The family name was changed to Bailey during his childhood.

Edward graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in Niagara Falls, New York and joined the military where he was an Airmen 2nd Class with the Air Force/Air National Guard studying electronics. He worked with his father in the family-owned business, Bailey Electronics in Niagara Falls, New York for many years.  

Edward married Cora Schweichler on June 3, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Lockport, New York, enjoying a honeymoon in the Adirondack Mountains. They lived in North Tonawanda, New York until they moved to Stuart, Florida in 2003, and not having to shovel snow anymore. They enjoyed camping at 4 Mile Creek Campground in Youngstown, New York, and eventually had a permanent campsite at Dream Lake Campground in Warsaw, New York, spending weekends there with family and friends, taking car rides, playing cards, dominoes, horseshoes and Bocce ball. Edward also liked collecting Lionel Trains, had a passion for cars mostly his Corvair which was his first car, loved music, stereo equipment, and gadgets. Edward loved watching sports on TV of his favorite teams, the Buffalo Bills, Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, and Notre Dame college football. He loved his Polish heritage, could speak Polish, enjoyed dancing the Polka with Cora at weddings, and loved homemade pierogis that his Mom and sister Carol made, especially for Christmas Eve dinner with family. 

Edward was dedicated to volunteering his time with the American Red Cross in Stuart, Florida, Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL, his community of Pinelake Gardens, and loved volunteering at the Stuart Air Show.  Edward was a past member of St. Joseph's Church in North Tonawanda, New York where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, member of the Holy Name Society, and in the choir. Edward was also a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Stuart, Florida where he was a past member of the choir. He was a Shaklee Distributor for over 40 years and a Manager at Century Housewares in North Tonawanda, New York for many years.

Edward is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cora Bailey, of Stuart, Florida; daughter Elizabeth (Eric) Berg of Jensen Beach, Florida; son Dave (Kathy) Bailey of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; son Daniel (Sarah) Bailey of Deale, Maryland; Granddaughter Ella Bailey of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Step-Grandsons Derek Berg & Michael Berg of North Tonawanda, New York; and Step-Great Grandson Riley Berg, of North Tonawanda; Step Grandson Connor Haller of Deale, Maryland. Sister Carol Butry (Robert) of Niagara Falls, New York; sister-in-law Margaret Bailey of Moosic, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edward was predeceased by his parents Alexander & Sophie Bailey; his in-laws Walter & Marion Schweichler; sister Joan Hoolihan, Charlotte, North Carolina; brother Paul Bailey, Moosic, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, and sister-in-law James and Linda Schweichler, Brewerton, New York; and special lifelong friends Martin & Jeane Pisano, Wellsville, New York; and Peter Losi, Elma, New York.

Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport, New York with a private graveside service at a later date.
