Palm City-David B. Earle, aged 65, of Palm City, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 8, 2024. Born on March 20, 1959, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, he was a dedicated family man, survived by his wife and best friend, Ellen, and beloved children, Katie and Elizabeth.
David moved to Stuart, Florida, at the age of two, coming from Morristown, New Jersey. He received his B.S. Degree in Journalism from the University of Florida and was a proud Gator and member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. David was a summa cum laude graduate of Nova Southeastern University, receiving his Juris Doctor Degree.
David began his professional life as a newspaper reporter for The Jensen Beach Mirror. Following that, he worked for the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Tom Lewis, as a district aide and then as his district manager. He then became a successful attorney and founding member of the Ross, Earle, Bonan, Ensor & Carrigan law firm. David often said that he had held the three most unpopular professions-journalist, politician, and attorney. He conducted himself as a consummate professional in all three areas.
The pinnacle of David’s legal career was a trial and victory litigating a case in front of The Supreme Court of Florida.
While David had an esteemed law career, he also valued service to his community as a board member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida, Chancellor of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Stuart, and former Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Martin County.
David was a gentleman, kind, thoughtful, principled, and a mentor and confidant to many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Visiting Nurse Association Foundation, 2400 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart FL 34996, or St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 623 S.E. Ocean Boulevard, Stuart FL 34996.
There will be a Celebration of Life Remembrance for David in January 2025.
