Carlos Manuel Maldonado, born on September 25, 1938, in Barcelona, Spain, touched the lives of many with his kind and generous spirit. Carlos, who passed in his sleep on May 5, 2024, resided in Stuart, FL, where he enjoyed his favorite hobbies of travel, sailing, and swimming.
Carlos cherished his family above all else and found great joy in helping others. As one of the first surgeons at Martin Memorial Hospital, he dedicated his career to improving the lives of his patients. Carlos's proudest accomplishment was his journey to America in the 1970s, where he sought the realization of the American dream.
He found the love of his life in Lidia, whom he was happily married to for 60 years. Together, they raised their children, Manuel and Cristina. Manuel, along with his wife Alexandra, and Cristina, were the source of immense pride and joy for Carlos. His grandchildren, Marina, Lucia, Jordi, and Jack, brought him endless happiness.
Carlos was known for his charming personality, kind heart, and sense of humor. His impact on the lives of others was profound, as he devoted himself to helping those in need. He actively participated in community organizations such as Volunteers in Medicine, Knights of Columbus, and the Rotary Club, always striving to make a difference.
Carlos Manuel Maldonado will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. In his own words, "Just remember the good shots."
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Stuart Chapel of Martin Funeral Home, 961 S. Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL with a Evening Prayer Vigil. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 SE 10th Street, Stuart, FL at 10 am.
