Bruce "Duke" Fletcher

Bruce Wallace “Duke” Fletcher, 67, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and formerly Jensen Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2021.  Bruce was born in Philadelphia September 7, 1957, and moved to Jensen Beach, Florida two months later. He graduated Martin County High School in 1975. Bruce was a natural athlete, a good golfer, and baseball player for Martin County High School. He attended the University of Florida and Florida State University. He dabbled in real estate, broadcasting and tax work but found his true calling as a professional waiter. He worked in several high end restaurants and served the members of the Palm Beach Yacht Club for twenty years, retiring as a Wait Captain. Bruce lived most of his adult life in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

 He will long be remembered for his unique sense of humor, collection of jokes and the smiles he put on people’s faces. His favorite days started with kayak fishing at sunrise and teaching others how to do it as well. He was a lifelong Oakland, then Las Vegas, Raiders fan. He enjoyed good food and fine wine.

He was raised in the Episcopal faith at All Saints’ Episcopal Church Jensen Beach. Bruce entered eternal life on December 21st, 2024, from Jupiter Medical Center’s Hospice Unit. He was predeceased by his parents Georgia (Wright) and Wallace W. Fletcher and is survived by his sister Joyce, her husband Philip R Menard and good friend to the end, Kurt Ahlman among others. A Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 20253 NE Seaview Drive, Jensen Beach FL. at 11 a.m. on January 21st 2025. A Reception will follow at the church fellowship hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice in Bruce’s memory.
