Ann S Kerrigan entered into the eternal life of the resurrected Jesus Christ surrounded by her husband and children. Ann was a role model of what God intended for a woman bringing faith into everything she did and everyone she met. Daughter of George and Elizabeth Abood Solomon, Ann was born in Windber, PA in 1930. After graduating from Catholic High School in Johnstown, she received her undergraduate degree from Seton Hill University and turned down a teaching position at the University of Beirut to become a dietician at Mercy Hospital in Johnstown, PA. She accepted a Home Economics teaching position at Johnstown High shortly after meeting her soulmate and best friend of over 68 years. During her pregnancy, she was excused from her teaching post and enthusiastically embarked upon a full-time position as a domestic engineer, educator, and faith guide to her family.
Ann met her loving husband at a charity dance in Johnstown, PA in 1954 and married upon completion of his post-graduate studies in 1956. She was an active member at each of their home parishes; serving as a CCD instructor, Eucharistic minister, and Ladies of Charity. This dedication and devotion was recognized early by the Church as the family was chosen to lead the rosary in Providence. “The Family that prays together, stays together” ~ Father John Peyton
Beloved by all who encountered her, Ann had a kind word and smile; a ready homemade Lebanese meal, and a warmth of heart that was contagious. She showered her children and grandchildren with love, faith, and wisdom that continues throughout the generations.
